Shop the thrift stores for a table or desk that will fit your space. Then paint it to coordinate with your decor. Add some shelves or cabinets above it for extra storage. There are also some great ideas here on Hometalk:

PICK a corner of your room. Get 2 card tables (any length & width) & attach them to the walls with hinges in the corner. One on the left wall of the corner & one on the right wall of the corner. When you get ready to use them, just pull whichever one down (the legs will open to set on the floor) & use it. When finished, simply close it back up & push it back to the wall in place. Having one on each wall, you can drop each one of them down as needed without using valuable floor space using standing tables. STORAGE: On the left of the left table, maybe a bookcase & stackable rolling bins (the kind with drawers) to work from. On the right of the right table, do the same thing. This way, you can separate what goes for your ""craft"" table & what goes with your ""painting"" tables. The bookshelf can be used for storing your bulky stuff so you can get to them on one side of your body & the rolling bins can be moved into place on your other side of your body for easy access while working. When done with your project, just roll the bin back against the wall for future use. OTHER STORAGE: Get a bookcase cabinet (looks like a bookcase with doors) to store your things you don't use as often & the doors will hide them away until you need them in the future. Hope this helps. :)
I like to use Kleenex boxes for organization. I always think it's easier when your boxes are uniform size. For larger items you can get cardboard boxes from the grocery store and cover to match your decor. There are so many ways to cover boxes that it can become a passion in and of itself. I have used burlap, fabric, rope, and contact paper.
Thank you!
Wow! Great ideas! I see TV armoires all the time for nothing. Thanks for the link to see some ideas.
