Hello sue, Start with the first thing you come across, then move on until all is done. Do a bit at a time, Don't rush.....It needs to be right, and you need to know where everything is..........If you need to, make a list inside every box of contents, or Have a file system or an alphabetical List.....It will be fun to do, and you might even find your next project while organizing everything..

Hi Sue! I start by organizing items by type. Then I sort and declutter. Donate what you can and throw away the rest of what you can't use. I like to sort like items to store together, but, some people organize by project.

Start with your work space and organize that, then go out from there. Make piles of what you want to keep, what is garbage and what you can donate that you will never use. Be brutal if need be! Get containers, drawer systems, book shelves, whatever you will need in order to get things put away in whatever system you decide on. It all doesn't need to be done in one day, break it up in sections so that the job doesn't overwhelm you. Once you are done going through everything, get rid of the garbage pile, donate the donate pile, then start going through the keep pile and divide it all into piles of what you want together. Once that is done, all you need to do is put your supplies in the appropriate places. Good luck!

Perhaps you just need to get your craft room divided into three areas to store everything. Find old chest of drawers at Salvation Army, etc. to use to hold all your supplies. Do one wall for each thing, craft, art and quilting storage. If need be more than one for each and paint them the way you want so they look good together. Perhaps have your work station in the middle of the room so that supplies can be kept along the walls. Make sewing craft and art stations on wheels so that you can work with what you want and just move them so that you can go to another station, say while something is drying or setting up.

This is what I did. There are crafts in each box. Each box is labeled and in abc order

I used cubby book shelves on their sides that attached to a large top. Had a basement flood last week and the presswood shelves got wet😡. When I replace them I will buy metal legs 8” high and attach them in case the pipes get roots again!

This is what I tried to do. I hate to say it but, I think my room is too small for all I want in it and I am going to have to get gutsy and throw away stuff.
