Where we live it freezes so paint is stored inside. Keep our in a closet in our utility room.
I keep mine in a shoe box on a shelf in my laundry room. My garage gets too cold in the winter.
Indoors.

when you finish using a can, and want to save the rest for another project, turn can upside down and 'spray' several short bursts until no color comes out -- turn right side up, cap and store above freezing
The can says to turn it upside down and dispense any of the accelerant before storing. Does anybody know why? I leave mine in the garage. It gets cold but I've never had any freeze. The reason I know is I use it the following year if needs be and it's fine. So, as for where you store, your physical location will help you determine that.
I do follow the stricture to turn can upset down and expel paint left in tube (I think that is why they instruct that. We store in our unheated basement but it doesn't get below freezing there.
I have 2 very similar to these that I bought from Amazon. I love them.
