Making candles is so fun and really easy anyone can do it. Some basic supplies are all you need to create a fun set of floral candles that smell great and can even be given away as gifts!

I started with glass votives, fresh flowers, paraffin wax, paprika, orange oils, coffee filters, wood twills (for the wick), tweezers, string, and a scentsy warmer.

I first started by etching the glass with Etchall creme adding a fun frosted look to each votive (check out the supply picture to see how they look after they have been etched).

To see all the steps on how to warm the wax, add the flowers, and do the pour check out the video, it has all the details for the etching and candle making in detail!

To add color to the wax, which starts as a clear almost white, i used paprika in a coffee filter tied up with string and then placed into the wax as it headed. The color from the paprika colored the wax to give it a pretty peach color. So cool!!

These candles are so pretty, and the orange essence I added into the wax when it was warm gives off a wonderful smell when it is lit. I added all the flowers to the bottom of the votive before pouring the wax, and then a few at the top to I can see them. I also used a wood twill (wooden shaving that rolls up on itself) as the wick. I coated it with wax before placing it into the candle and it works great!

I used a wax warmer like a scentsy to heat up the wax, but a double boiler works great too. I just love the look of these candles with the light peach colors with the fresh flowers floating in the wax. Pop on over to my  BLOG for a few extra tips and additional pictures about this project!
