My sister, Karen and I co-hosted a bridal shower for our niece Kristen. As you see from the invitation, we were going with a princess theme. I wanted a bridal coach as the centerpiece, however everything I found was much to small. With some engineering assistance from my wonderful husband, Jeff, we designed a coach fitting for a prince and his princess. icon
Once the invitation was selected, the wheels were in motion to create the perfect bridal coach centerpiece.
The coach body is a decorative garden decor that I purchased from hobby lobby.
The wheels and the coach frames were originally created as  homemade plant holders.  after mounting four of these together, they made the perfect chassis.
These spokes are made from all thread rod and threaded into an aluminum hub. The hub was turned on a lathe, drilled and taped on a milling machine.
The coach is embellished with plastic rhinestones.  A  lamp finial was used for the top piece.  I finished it off with a fresh coat of gold paint.
This adorable bride and groom were hot glued in the center of the coach.
The prince and princess rode off in their carriage and lived happily ever after.

Susie wonderful Job! Congrats on your first of many post to come. I love the coach. Are you also using it in some way as a center piece for a baby shower too?
