Create Hoop Wreath Chargers That Will Wow Your Guests In Minutes
I love hoop wreaths, and I love coming up with unconventional ways to set festive tables. So I put the two together when it came to my fall tablescape and created hoop wreath chargers! And if you think hoop wreaths are easy, you’ll think hoop wreath chargers are cake. Why? Because you don’t even have to hang them!
Embroidery hoops come in all different sizes, and so do plates. So to begin, you will want to make sure you measure the diameter of your plates and choose an embroidery hoop size that will be a bit larger than that to leave room for the greenery and florals you add to the hoops.
Depending on the amount of greenery you want to add, I recommend a minimum of 1/2 – 1 inch of space between your plate and your hoop!
I opted for 12-inch embroidery hoops for my 11-inch plates because I knew I only wanted to add a small amount of greenery and florals on one side!
You can find embroidery hoops at your local craft stores!
Then it's time to choose your greenery and florals.
This is the fun part! Come up with your look and (if you’re like me) shop your home for florals or go to your local craft store to pick some up! I chose some basic greenery and these fun fall berries from Michael’s to brighten it up!
You can really do whatever your heart desires! My tip though is to overbuy your greenery and your florals! You can always return the extra, but you won’t want to stop mid-project to run back to the store if you run out!
Now go ahead and get comfy on the floor and lay it all out! I begin by cutting my greenery and florals apart with scissors or wire cutters. This lets me determine exactly how I want it to fall!
I then layer the greenery and the florals together exactly how I want them to look on the hoops! It’s as easy as that, really.
Once you have it laid out like you like, grab a roll of twine and get to tying! I cut some twine and tie the greenery and florals to the hoops as various points (I simply knot the twine) while making sure to leave room for it to fall and move naturally.
Once you’re done, you can either cut off the excess twine from your ties or tie them in bows for an added design.
Once you have all your greenery and florals tied on, simply place the wreath around your place setting.
Remember, there are no rules here. Add your wreaths to every table setting, alternate, or make different wreaths for each plate! Have fun with it.
And a little bonus step to wrap up this tutorial - since you just used twine to tie them together, switch them up for other seasons! Keep them neutral to use for multiple seasons in a row, update the florals, or start from scratch. This simple, budget-friendly project has limitless possibilities!
