I had a few toilet paper rolls ready for the recycling bin, when an idea came to me! Why not use them to create something useful. napkin rings it is! I'm going to show you how I used toilet paper rolls, mod podge, and paper napkins to create super easy napkin rings!

I used basic toilet paper rolls.

I decided to cut straight down the roll before dividing the roll into two pieces.

I then cut the rolls into two rings.

I found these paper napkins locally; and decided to use them for this project.

I used the cut toilet roll to measure out the right amount of napkin needed. I didn't cut it perfectly, as I ended up folding the excess napkin over the toilet paper roll

I used mod podge to attach the napkin to the toilet paper roll. Mod podge is such an easy product to work with; and can be found at craft stores and places like Walmart.

I used a paint brush to apply the mod podge to the toilet paper rolls. You can really use any type of brush to apply it.

I just applied the mod podge to the entire top of each toilet paper ring.

I then wrapped the paper napkin around the toilet paper ring. You will notice your paper may appear wrinkled after applying the mod podge. That's pretty normal. It should smooth out once dry.

After the bottom layer of my mod podge sat and dried a bit, I applied another coat of mod podge on top of the paper napkin. This helps seal it and prevent tearing.

After letting the top layer of mod podge dry a bit, I used the second toilet paper rolls half to wrap around the one I was working on. This helped ensure the ring dried in a more even circle. This step isn't necessary; I just chose to do so.

Also, if you decide to do this, make sure your mod podge is not to sticky, or the cardboard will stick to your napkin paper.

After the mod podge was dry, I used this permanent glue stick to attach the ends of the ring.

I really think the ring turned out perfectly! This would be a great project for an outdoor tablesetting too. Maybe a tea party or BBQ.

What a gorgeous place setting! I love how napkin rings add an ambiance of elegance to any meal. My son would insist on using them, even for breakfast or a quick meal on paper plates. I hope you have many happy meals with your lovely napkin rings. Have you thought of doing special rings for holiday, seasons, or special events?

Please forgive my ocd brain for demanding I mention this, but it would haunt me to get those darn lines perfect. I have learned to fool that stupid brain by deliberately tipping everything off 20 - 45 degrees and calling it avant garde. I did that with every poster I ever hung in my classroom. Lol

Thanks for sharing your creative, beautiful project!
