Grab An Inexpensive Pail And Turn It Into A Farmhouse Centerpiece
This is a quick and super easy project!
Wal-Mart has these great metal pails for just under $7. They are mostly blank with a small design on one side. I've also found them at Michaels and you can use one of those 20% off coupons they have online! Even Amazon has great plain ones! Or, chances are, you already have something similar in your home that you can use.
When you're done, fill the pail with some small foam pumpkins for fall, small ornaments for Christmas, fake colored eggs for easter, or just some decorative balls for a year round centerpiece 😍
This also works great on decorative trays!
Redesign With Prima recently had a summer of 2020 new release, and let me just say, these designs are WOW! 😍 For this pail, I used pieces of the brand new summer of 2020 release Decor Transfer called "Farmlife". This transfer comes in 2 sheets and had 4 sections. Chickens, pugs, horses, and cows. I used the bits from the pig section. Just cut out the pieces that you want and save the rest for other projects 😁
There are dozens of different transfers to choose from, even ones for fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I also like using the transfer tool rather than the wood sticks that are included in the transfer tubes. It's just easier to use and doesn't break
Cut out the pieces of transfer that you'd like to use
After you've cut out the pieces you want to use, tape them in place and figure out exactly where you want to put each piece.
The reason for doing this first is because once you peel the backing off of the transfer, it's going to stick to anything it touches and won't be able to be moved once it makes contact. So always play around with placement with the backing still in place
Now that you have the placemat down, start applying the transfers.
Moving piece by piece, peel the white backing off and carefully place it onto the pail.
Press down firmly over then entire transfer using either the transfer tool or wooden stick, paying extra attention the edges.
Now, slowly peel up the clear protective layer. If at any time part of the transfer isn't adhering, stop and place the clear layer back down and press firmly over the transfer. A fingernail works great for getting stubborn smaller pieces to complete adhere. Then, try again and slowly pull up the clear layer
Now that you've applied the transfer, take a clean dry rag and go over the transfer, applying a bit of pressure.
Continue this process until each piece of transfer is applied
Now you get to enjoy your unique decor piece 😍
I hope this has inspired you to have some fun with transfers and update some home decor to fit your unique style ♥️
