How to Arrange an Autumn Floral Centerpiece - Video Tutorial
Watch this video tutorial to learn how to create an autumn floral centerpiece using a vintage silver bowl, hydrangea, eucalyptus, tulips, roses, and mums.
Flower arranging is hard! There is picking the right floral combinations…finding a vase…manipulating the flowers in the right position…and of course prolonging the life of the arrangement!I really get it, and it is only within the last year or so that I have started to master floral arranging, which is why I’m sharing this video tutorial showing you exactly how I created my autumn floral centerpiece for my fall table!
This arrangement is filled with gorgeous orange roses, purple mums, golden tulips, and white canterbury bells against a base of green hydrangea and seeded eucalyptus.
To create a similar floral arrangement you will need wet floral foam, a large silver bowl, and at least 5 different florals.
The video shows you how I built this floral arrangement step by step, and I explain why I made certain design choices. I share several tips and tricks to arrange flowers and create a visually interesting centerpiece.
Additionally, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to create a beautiful floral centerpiece. All of these flowers came from our local grocery, and the silverplate bowl I bought at a thrift shop.
A good floral arranging tip to remember: you generally want your flowers double the height of the container, so they feel proportionate.
I used this lush floral arrangement on my fall table, and I love how the colors compliment this vintage chintz tablecloth. To complete the autumn centerpiece, I placed the floral arrangement in a silver tray and nestled faux pumpkins in a variety of sizes all around.
Over on my blog, Pender & Peony, you can read more tips and tricks to arranging beautiful flowers, and I am sharing the full fall tablescape there as well! There are tons of photos and all the details about setting a table for autumn.
