Thanksgiving is next week.

And today I’m thinking maybe some of us might want to keep our Fall decor around at least until the turkey carcass has been cleared from the table and the last morsel of pecan pie has been devoured.

So today I have some ideas to help us hit the ground running and transition decor from Fall to Christmas as soon as we snap that last leftover container lid shut.

Remember the pumpkin centerpiece we did a few weeks ago? If you missed it, you can read about it HERE

Well, here’s a super quick transition from Thanksgiving right into Christmas:

Take the pumpkins, moss and paper out of the wooden box.

So now you just have the box filled with chicken wire.

Place ornaments on top of the chicken wire.

Start with the largest ones first and place them all around.

Fill in with the smaller ornaments until the whole box is full.

Place special, differently shaped ornaments on top for more interest.

And...

Instant Christmas!

And on the buffet...

A simple switch from this

To this

In about 5 minutes!

Then there’s the Fall armoire...

To the Christmas armoire

Just replacing the pumpkins with a dried branch and a couple of metal reindeer totally transforms the look from Fall to Christmas.

And in the entryway…

Here’s Fall

And now...

Hello Christmas!

It’s so easy to go from this

To this

(See how to make this lighted star garland HERE)

So gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving.

Enjoy those around you.

Count your blessings.

Give thanks.

And don’t worry too much about Christmas —

There will still be time to decorate for that when you’re done.
