Patchwork Drop Cloth

One of my favorite decor pages on Instagram shared a vintage patchwork drop cloth. She used it as a tablecloth and a chair cover. It looked adorable!! Therefore I had to recreate one myself.

I started with scraps of drop cloth and a couple other neutral fabrics.

Some bits of ticking stripe fabric helped to give it that vintage feel.

I stenciled a couple scraps too. This definitely helps to give it an antique feel.

I then just started sewing pieces together.

I added a couple “patches” too.

once my pieces were sewn together, I trimmed up my edges and squared it up some so it would be somewhat rectangular.

Some of the edges needed hemming to keep it from fraying. I kept a lot of the raw edges too though.

And that’s really all there was to it. You could certainly put a backing on this too. You could make pillows using this technique as well.

I love how this looks vintage 😊. I’m looking forward to putting it out on my patio table with vintage dishes for a Sunday brunch!!
