When my son graduated from Texas A&M, we gave him an "Aggie" party and decorated the place with a rustic look using lots of old, used picket fence pieces.

My friend Mary, who is extremely artistic and creative, made the dry flower arrangements to put inside the little boxes which we used as centerpieces for the tables.

I don't have pictures of the process but they were very easy and simple to make.

Basically using the width of the picket cut in 8" pieces. Using glue and a nail gun, the boxes where done in a snap. She then added the twine to embellish.

The more imperfect, the better. Oh, and she also "dry-brushed" them with white paint.

Finished look. Aggie color is maroon, so of course we added lots of that around.

After the party was over, I had lots of these left over so I used some at home and my son took some to his office at his new job.
