If you're eating at this table, make sure everyone is ok with the scent since it is quite strong (I personally can't stand it but others love it). It could have an effect on how things taste. If it's not around people eating, laying it on the table in branches would be pretty.
I have to agree with Becky, it is a strong and pungent scent which could interfere with guests enjoying the wedding reception. A lesson for us when we moved into our first apartment, I was thrilled to have a wreath with eucalyptus in it and hung it inside the door. It took less than a week to figure out it was the cause of irritated throats and eyes.
