How should I display decorative candles?

When displaying decorative candles that will not be lit, is it ok to leave the plastic on the candle or should it be removed? Just wondering what others do. Thanks

Remove the plastic. It looks tacky and will also cause wax discoloration. Enjoy your candles and burn them. In interior design settings we always at least light the candle. An unlit wick was looked down on.

Thanks to all for your answers. I was wwondering if it looked tacky leaving the plastic on. My concern was the decorative ribbon that’s attached to the plastic not staying in place after the plastic is removed.

I always set the dining room table even when not in use with china, sliver, crystal glasses, a centerpiece, and candle sticks. We argue over the candles having not being burned. I have always felt it looks tacky with the wick burnt. Like you have old candles you started to use and none other fresh ones to put on the table.
