Thanksgiving Walnut Shell Salt Cellars

30 Minutes
Easy
Creating a fantastic and memorable Thanksgiving table is easy, especially by adding a few special touches...like these salt cellars. It only takes a few minutes to create these adorable walnut shell salt cellars!
Using hollowed out walnut shells, add salt cellars to any holiday table.
Here, the salt cellars add a touch of rustic charm.
Begin with whole walnuts in the shell.
Using gentle pressure along the seam of the walnut, try to create a small opening to pry the halves apart. Using the nutcrackers too forcefully will yield broken walnut shells. Be gentle and remember it might take a few tries to get a nicely halved walnut.
Once walnuts are halved, remove the nut and membrane.
When the shell is empty, Fill with salt and pepper.
The walnut salt cellars can be saved. Empty the salt and pepper and store in an airtight container. Friendly reminder: Be sure your holiday guests do not have any nut allergies before creating this table accessory. For more info and a few more photos, please visit the blog below.
