Americana Decor From Craft Sticks

This rustic Americana decor flag can be hung year round and it's so easy for anyone to make! All you need are a handful of long craft sticks, some watered down paint and hot glue FREE PATTERN AND MORE PHOTOS HERE
SUPPLIES


8 Jumbo Extra Long Craft Sticks (tongue depressor width) Ours were about 7 3/4 long and 1wide. We bought them at Hobby Lobby.

Scissors to cut the sticks


Hot Glue


Watered down paint, red, blue, white


Soda bottle tab for hanging
Cut the ends off your longer craft sticks making sure they are all the same width.
You can use our free pattern from our site to help layout your flag and trace the star.
Place your sticks together as shown, staggering them. Glue two cross pieces on the back with hot glue to hold them all together.
Using watered down acrylic paint, stain each slat following the colors.
Paint the star on after the other painting is done. Use our pattern if needed.
Soda can tabs are PERFECT for hanging light weight items such as this. Just glue it on! LOTS MORE PHOTOS ON OUR SITE BELOW
