It suddenly dawned on me today, that as pretty as my yellow wreath is on the front door of my new house, Halloween is fast approaching. I love decorating for Halloween, don't you? I don't have the time or energy right now, to go overboard (assuming I could find the right decorations to put out from the old house in a reasonable amount of time!), so, I thought the wreath would be a nice place to start. I took down the yellow wreath, pulled out the old orange wreath (okay, off a hook on the back porch at the old house), picked up two cute kitchen towels at Walmart for 88 cents each, since I couldn't decide between the black and the white, so I bought both.
These are my supplies: two Day of the Dead towels and my tulle and plastic wreath I made awhile back. Here's the link for the towel project if you're interested:

First I tried both towels, tucking and pinning them on the back of the wreath, so I could see how they looked from the front.
The second towel had one large skull and several ones on it. So, I folded it in half, so that the larger skull would show from the front.
This is what it looked with from the front.
Instead of just pinning it in place, I decided to sew the towel to the back of the wreath with stitches at the top, bottom and sides.
I rolled the edges, and took stitches around the wire frame and into the towel. Nothing any beginner sewer couldn't do!
After securing the towel behind it, I attached the wreath to the hanger on the front door.
It's cute and orange, so how can you go wrong? It would be easy to attach some cute Halloween picks or stitch (or glue) some creepy things. I have a sparkly ribbon SOMEWHERE (I bet it's at the other house!). So is a cute update to a wreath I had, a towel for less than a dollar, and some simple stitching (or gluing if you'd rather).
