DIY Easter Napkin Ring

So, of course, I needed to make the rest for my table setting. And now you can too. Just follow the simple step-by-step instructions below.

Supplies for DIY Easter Napkin Ring

• Shower curtain rings
• Ribbon (at least 1″ wide)
• Small Easter eggs
• Various craft paint
• Cardboard
• Floral moss
• Hot glue

How to Make a Simple Napkin Ring for Easter

Before I go into the steps to make this Easter egg napkin ring, I’ve gotta share that the key piece was upcycling old shower curtain rings.

I had found them in a bag at an estate sale – for free!!! (I think I did a little jig when I found them, lol.)

Did you know that curtain rod rings are the perfect size to use as napkin rings?

Yeppers!

So don’t toss those old curtain rings – keep them for easy upcycle Easter napkin rings.

Step 1: Gather supplies for your Easter napkin ring diy

As I just mentioned above – find some old shower curtain rings. Either ones you’ve kept, or make a quick trip to your local thrift store.

You’ll also want ribbon (at least 1-inch wide) that will match your table’s theme color, small plastic Easter eggs (I bet you already have some in your stash), cardboard, and paint colors to match your theme.

Step 2: Wrap the curtain ring

Cut an 18-inch strip of your ribbon. Then hot glue it in place, on the inside of the curtain ring.

Now carefully wind the ribbon around the shower curtain ring.

Make sure that the ribbon overlaps and completely covers the shower ring.

It gets a little tricky going around the ring, so you will need to pull it tight along the edge and adjust as you go.

Once you have completely covered the shower ring, hot glue the ribbon in place, on the inside of the ring, and trim off any excess ribbon.

*Tip: for a cleaner finish – cut the ribbon a little past the final wrap, then fold it inwards, so the fold lines up inside the ring, and then glue it in place.

Step 3: Painting the Easter eggs for your diy Easter napkin ring

Using craft paint – paint your small Easter eggs the colors of your Easter tablescape.

Since my Easter table setting was orange, grey, and cream, those are the three colors I painted my eggs.

If your table has just two primary colors, then use two different colors of paint, or do the same if you have four dominant colors on your Easter table.

The key is that the Easter eggs coordinate with your Easter table decor.

It will probably take multiple coats to completely cover the eggs. I believe my eggs needed 3 coats to totally hide their original color.

Step 4: Creating your homemade Easter napkin rings

Now comes the fun of putting everything together.

First, cut out a circle about the size of a quarter from cardboard or thick cardstock. Something that is fairly stiff.

Next, add hot glue to the round piece of cardboard and adhere the floral moss.

*Tip: I made a pile of floral moss in a small bowl and then pushed the hot glue end of the cardboard into the moss. Saved my fingers from touching the hot glue and worked great to attach the moss.

After you have attached the floral moss, add your painted Easter eggs by putting a dab of hot glue on the bottom of each one and adhering it to the moss.

Once all of your cardboard rounds are done and have the moss and eggs attached, it’s time to affix them to the wrapped curtain rings.

Just add hot glue to the top of the ring and lightly press the cardboard round into place.

Make sure it’s straight before the glue has a chance to dry.

And …. you’re done!
