The other day my mum-in-law very kindly popped round with some lovely curly willow branches for me to decorate for Easter.
(Here in the Nederlands decorating twigs and branches for Easter is very popular)
It is such an easy and cheap way to brighten up your home during the spring / easter period.
First I filled a large glass vase with some large clear plastic crystal rocks to secure the branches, then added a little coloured sisal
I also added a colourful easter postcard - which further stabilised the branches.
The previous week I had been working on another project, making pretty embossed cones out of air-drying clay. I decided to add ribbon to them and hang them in my branches (if you didn't want to make the clay cones you could easily make some little cones using card or paper).
I filled the cones with a little more sisal and added mini glitter eggs
I added a few more colourful wooden easter decorations that I had from the previous year and the arrangement was finished. It's that simple!
This is just an example of how you can decorate using branches and twigs, it's so easy to do and you can basically do it with anything you have lying around the house.
