This topiary is perfect for your Easter decor! It is easy to make and brings spring into your home!
I love chicks and since I can’t have a whole mess of real chicks in my house, and since if I did they would grow into actual big chickens way to quickly I decided to get crafty with some fake ones! They are almost as cute, don’t make near the mess, and don’t grow up into big chickens!
Here's what you'll need--

36- Chenille Chicks (I got mine from  Amazon)
6 in. Styrofoam Ball
6 in. Flower Pot
A Styrofoam Chunk to fit in your pot (I bought a square one and cut it down)
Dowel Rod
Ribbon
Flowers
Moss- I used a blend of green moss & Spanish moss
Scissors
Hot glue gun & several hot glue sticks

The first thing you want to do is poke a hole in your styrofoam ball for your dowel rod. I used a pair of scissors to poke a hole and hollow it out a little then stuck the dowel in. You don’t want to anchor it in yet, just make a space for it.
Now it’s time to add your chicks on. I started with one on the top one on the bottom and then added them to the sides. Just keep going until you have them all stuck on evenly. I did set aside 2 to put at the base, but that’s up to you. I made mine face all different directions but you can place them however you’d like!

Once you have all your chicks placed start filling in around them with moss. Be careful! Hot glue likes to sneak through moss onto your fingers!

Once your ball is covered you can add in flowers where ever you’d like them. If your flowers have wire stems you should be able to push them into the styrofoam, or you can always hot glue them too!
Now get your pot ready, cut down your styrofoam to fit into it, a serrated bread knife works really well for this. Then make a whole in the center of the styrofoam for your dowel to fit in.

Now let’s get your dowel rod ready. How long you make it is your preference. You’ll need a couple of inches on either end to stick into your styrofoam ball and the pot so make sure to judge accordingly. Once you have it cut to the length you’d like you can wrap it with ribbon. Just anchor one end of your ribbon on one end of the dowel with a dot of hot glue and then wrap it. Anchor the bottom with another dot of glue.
Now put a dot of hot glue on the top of the dowel and put your ball on, then add a dot to the bottom and anchor it into your pot.

Once you’ve got it all assembled you can decorate the base of your chick topiary. I added some green moss, a little Spanish moss, 2 of my chicks and a few flowers. You can do whatever you’d like!
