Dress up your walls and freshen up your décor with these simple heart themed pieces. These work great for Valentine's day, but could work all year round too.

Start with a couplie frames. I chose white frames because I like how they looks with bright colors inside. You can use frames you already have, or pick up a few at a thrift store.

Remove the back and set the frame and glass aside.

I chose 2 frames, one with an 8x10 opening and one with a 12x12 opening.

Now it's time to decorate. If you are a crafter you may already have some scrapbook paper at home. If not head to the craft store and browse the aisle of brightly colored 12x12 paper. Pick something that inspires you.

I chose a floral paper and cut a white heart to lay over the top.

For the smaller frame I printed a simple Carpe Diem graphic on copy paper.

Cut the paper to fit each frame then mount it just like you would a photo.

That's all it takes to make pretty and colorful art for your home.

Try this technique with a variety of patterned paper or fabric to change up your home décor for the season.

I used this same technique with a fun kitchen towel too, check it out here.
