Embellish a Wreath With a Plate

I hung a wreath in welcome for Thanksgiving to greet family, adding a turkey plate
to the center of a fall wreath for a quick and easy embellishment!
I like to enjoy my turkey plates beyond the table! My proud Tom turkey plate ( Victorian English Pottery Turkey by Edward Challinor) is ready to greet family members for Thanksgiving! I found the plate at HomeGoods a couple of years ago and you can see them at my Thanksgiving table here.
Here's a view from the back:
I added a hanger to the plate that's expandable and stretches. You can find plate hangers at hardware stores and online. I used a plain inexpensive metal shower curtain ring to attach to the plate holder and to hang over the wreath hanger. The shower curtain ring clips closed so it's a safe and secure to hold the plate.
Here is the before of my DIY fall wreath with natural elements, that made the transition from discount to designer.
And here it is framing the plate to greet our family and guests!
I attached some clear adhesive bumpers to the back of the plate, to prevent it from banging against the door and to protect the plate as the door opens and closes. The bumpers absorb vibration and are removable. I found the bumpers at Walmart but cork or felt disks/ pads that go on the bottom of furniture legs to protect your floors would work too.
Happy Thanksgiving!
