Embroidery Hoop Yarn Heart

I have a bunch of these embroidery hoops at home from a failed project sometime before Christmas. I set these hoops aside waiting for a reason to use them again... Maybe one of these days I'll have to do a post on all my failed projects! Anyways, the other day I pulled out my chunky wool yarn to start working on a wall hanging when I had a great idea - which is how this embroidery hoop yarn heart was born.

Grab your favorite chunky wool yarn, burlap ribbon and your embroidery hoop.

Secure the burlap tightly into the hoop. Loosen up the yarn.

I drew a heart on the burlap for a guide and then started pressing small pieces of the wool yarn into the burlap with a toothpick.

The toothpick was working, but it was taking forever! I found this little pick and tried this, which worked much better.

Continue adding yarn until you are happy with your heart.

I used my hot glue gun to add felt to the back and tied on a ribbon.

I love how cute it turned out... You could make these any size and they are perfect for some Valentine's Day home décor or perfect for gift giving! If you like this, head over to the blog and check out my other projects!
