Use patriotic paper fans to make this showstopper wreath for your front door! Don't miss my other simple holiday crafts, most you can do in under an hour, for under $20!
Paper fans like these can be found readily at craft stores during this time of year. They aren't just for parties, they make beautiful wreaths too! Because they are paper, you'll want to keep them on a covered porch projected from the elements. I've been using my fireworks wreath for the last 4 years!
It's generous size makes such a big impact on the front door, and is very eye catching from the street. We've had lots of compliments on it!
Supplies:
  • Large straw wreath form (I used one with rounded edges, but a flat circle works best)
  • Package of patriotic paper fans (Hobby Lobby or other craft / party store)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard
  • Patriotic popsicles and star stickers (optional)
Step 1: I cut notches into some of the fans with scissors to give them a pointed edge and vary up their look.
Step 2: To create a flat surface for the fan to attach to the wreath form, I found it helpful to first clue a piece of cardboard to the back, then hot glue it onto the wreath form.
Step 3: If you want you can create "stars" by layering popsicle sticks and gluing them together.
Step 4. I layered the fans around the wreath form, attached with hot glue, and finished with star stickers in the middle. I hung with a ribbon!
