Not only do I love to wear jeans, but when they are old and worn I keep them to make fun decorations for my house. Like my beautiful denim pompom flowers.

This time I've made some cute denim bunnies to sit on my spring mantle alongside the denim flowers.

What you need to make these denim bunnies is some scraps from old jeans, cardboard, yarn and a wood slice.

There is a free bunny template on my blog (link with bio at the end). Print this off and cut it out. Then draw around it onto the back of a scrap piece of denim.

Next, cut out the denim bunny shapes so that you have a front and back.

Using the same template cut out a cardboard bunny shape. But this time trim the edges of the cardboard bunny so that it is smaller than the denim bunnies. Then, paste it with glue.

Next, stick one side of the denim bunny to the cardboard. Then, using a hot glue gun add a small wooden dowel to the end.

Paste this side with glue and then stick the other denim piece to the top.

Hold it together with clips as the glue dries.

Then, make a small pom-pom with the yarn. Stick this to the denim bunny with hot glue to make a tail.

Again using a hot glue gun, stick the end of the dowel to the wood slice.

I used denim in different shades of indigo to make three of these bunnies.

They add a bit of fun to my spring mantle. I have many more ideas for making no-sew decorations out of old jeans here.
