Kids will LOVE this Giant Spider! This is an easy and cheap DIY Halloween decoration for the outside your home.

All of the neighbor kids love our giant spider, and it has seriously stopped traffic! icon We made it in under an hour and for less than $50.

Plus, it is easy to disassemble, and use it year after year--and it stores FLAT!

HOW TO MAKE A GIANT SPIDER:
See all the specific lengths, exact materials, and step-by-step photos in the GIANT SPIDER DECORATION TUTORIAL blog post.

STEP 1: Cut
Cut all of the pieces to the exact lengths specified. Sand them and set off to the side.

STEP 2: Glue
Glue the body and its joints together, placing the legs at the appropriate angles.

STEP 3: Assemble
Assemble your spider in your yard where you want to display it. Begin by attaching the body (center cross-section to the legs).

STEP 4: Paint
Spray-paint the body (using about two cans of matte black)

STEP 5: Build and attach the body
Now that you have the frame assembled and painted, attach the body--a black garbage or contractor bag stuffed with whatever leaves, newspapers, or other light and fluffy materials you want!
