A few months ago I acquired a bunch of old, dirty glass bottles. At the time I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but saved them because I knew they'd be perfect for DIY projects. Well, Halloween came around and inspiration struck. I'm going to show you how easy it is to transform old bottles into Halloween apothecary bottles.

For this project you will need paper labels, mod podge, a foam brush, corks and of course, glass bottles. I purchased my paper labels on Etsy, but you can find tons of free printable labels on Pinterest.

The first thing I did was select which size cork I needed for each bottle. Using corks as lids for the bottles gives the bottles an authentic apothecary vibe.

After all of the bottles had the appropriate size cork I selected a label for each of them. Once the label was selected I coated the back of the label with mod podge using my foam brush.

I then centered the label on the bottle of choice and smoothed it out. I used my fingernail to lightly scratch and distress the labels to age them.

Once all of the labels were applied I allowed them to dry fully then styled them. This project was one of my favorite DIYs. It was not only fun, but also simple. It's a great project to get your kids involved in!
