You'll never guess what this sign is made from! It's Skittles candy! I know it sounds crazy, but I just love how well it came out. It's perfect for your mantle or even a Halloween party centerpiece. And it will last. I've pulled this out for the last 3 years and it still looks great.
I used unfinished paper mache craft letters and painted them black with craft paint. Then, I picked out the orange, purple, and green Skittles and began hot gluing them. This will take2-3 bags of the biggest size bags of candy from Skittles.
I used the shortest frame shelf I could find at Ikea and hot glued the letters to it. Then, I added Halloween decor items like a glitter skull and black bird from the Dollar Tree to the sign.
This is the completed look. I was thrilled with how it came out. We don't have a fireplace mantle, but we do have a low wall separating our living room from the kitchen, and it's the perfect place to display the sign when we have a Halloween party.
