Everyone loves a good soup around the cold holiday months. With Halloween around the corner, its time to stir up some Halloween Witches Brew and decorate your center table, or your outiside porch. This DIY can be done using Dollar Tree items or Big Chain Higher priced items.
Caulking or Insulation Spray Foam
You can find caulking or insulation foam at any hardware store or local big store. This project took 2 cans because of the size of pot. I filled it up and let set for 24hrs so it could rise. You can fill your pot half way and just keep an eye on it and spray more after 24hrs if its not as full as you desire.
Pot is ready to Paint
After your Insulation foam has set and expanded for 24hrs, it should look like this. Doesn't it look like brains and worms? Ewwww but just the look we're going for.
Eyeballs and Witchy Legs
I found these at Wal-Mart and you can find witches legs mostley anywhere right now. Grab you pair that you can stick in the foam and be sure and grab some creepy eyes too.
Various Foam balls, paint, glitter
We want to make our witches brew very bubbly, but still fabulous. I found these various size foam balls to give us the bubbly effect. We can decorate them with glitter to make them shimmery.
Additional supplies
Grab you some hot glue sticks, hot glue gun, pipe cleaners, wooden stakes, foam block, wire cutters, and scissors
Ribbons
We want this to look fabulous with an over the top bow. So grab you 2-2.5" ribbons and 1-1.5" ribbon. Flex tubing of any color will work. I don't use cheap ribbon but if you'd like to keep this DIY very frugal, you can pick up these supplies at Dollar Tree.
Painting the brew
Start painting the witches brew just enough to give it an even coat. The neon color green is going to make this stand out. I gave it 2 coats. Once its dry, you can stick the legs in as desired.
Deco mesh application
Using your deco mesh 4" ribbon, you want to add it to the brew and make it "bubbly" bu creating poofs. You can hold the poofs down by cutting off small pieces of wood stake an sticking that into the mesh.
Wooden stakes
Use your wire cutters to push down the stakes just enough to hold the deco mesh.
Bubbles
Stick your foam balls atop wooden stakes on a foam block and start painting them. Once they are dry, you can stick them into the brew.
Create bubbly look
Create your bubbly look by putting the foam balls all around the brew. Cover the wooden stakes you used to hold the green mesh.
Finished Witches Brew Cauldron
Once you've added all your bubbly green foam balls, start hot gluing the eyeballs all over. Hot glue some tinsel garland, or feather boa around the ankles of the witchy legs. There are also tons of bow videos on Youtube and Pinterest. Check one out and attach your bow to the cauldron by placing a wood stick behind the bow and securing. Stick that towards the side front of the cauldron into the foam. Add some fun swirly picks around the feet and your design is done :)
