I wanted to make a small sign for Easter. I had a bunny shape and I love it when people take moss and attach it to wood shapes. That was my starting off place!

I found this fence at the Dollar Tree. Peter has to go through that fence to get into the garden right!

I used hot glue and started attaching the moss. Living in the Northwest we have plenty of moss. This came from my backyard. It looks a little ragged now, but just wait!

Once it’s all attached, you take scissors and cut off the excess moss. I turned it over and used the backside as my guide. It was soooo easy.

Then I used Rust-oleum’s Barrel Brown color to stain the fence. This is such a great color!

I wanted to have a carrot in the sign somewhere. But, I didn’t have one in my stash that was small enough, so I made one! I tend to save weird things thinking someday, some how, I can use them. And it just happened with the wooden stick that came from my ice cream bars. The shape is similar to an hour glass where it’s indented in the middle. I love this tool! Ordinary scissors would work too.

I used my miter shears to cut it in the shape of a carrot. I cut off pieces little by little until I got my desired shape.

Then, I sanded it down with my finger sander. ( Love this tool too!)

Orange acrylic paint was used to make it the right color.

I then added lines with a marker to help show the roundness of the carrot, a small swig of floral for the top and a couple of bows. I think Peter would like it!
