Our overall theme for Halloween last year was "decomposing composers," but I ran out of theme-related ideas by the time I got to our foyer. I still wanted to Halloween it up, though, so I went campy in there with some vintage horror movie posters.
There's no time like Halloween to finally switch out your spring decor, right? Sigh. Timely seasonal decorating is not my strong suit.
One of my favorite things about this project was that it was incredibly easy icon . First step, go to one of my favorite sources for free printables, FreeVintagePosters.com and search "horror." I used the same site to look for printables for my son's National Parks themed gallery wall, so I knew it would come through for me.
...and sure enough, there were so many great choices I had trouble narrowing it down. I should mention that I actually can't stand to watch horror movies myself, so I was in it purely for the aesthetics. So obviously the Saucer Men made the cut icon
After printing the posters, I made a Michaels run for some inexpensive frames to put them in (I reused them later for Christmas, also with some free printables I found, so I didn't have to feel bad buying frames just for one holiday), hung them up on the wall, and added some more Halloween decor to finish up.
