Today I am joining some other ladies for our Ten on the Tenth Blog Series. Our theme was Fourth of July. Here is my faux wood fireworks I made last year. These were fun to make. I decided I wanted to use color for these ones. I found these fabric quarters at Walmart and thought they were so pretty I would use them. Who says you have to be traditional in your crafts. It’s fun to think outside of the box. I displayed them in one of my enamel ware pans I had picked up at a yard sale this year.

I needed some round object to use as the base. I decided to use a branch I had found. But I though later a toilet paper roll or paper towel roll would work great too. I went with what I had at the time. I sanded both ends of my branch pieces that i had cut to 6″.

I drilled a hole in the top of each piece to fit the jute I was going to use as the wick.

I put hot glue into the holes and used a skewer to help push the jute inside of the holes. I then unraveled the jute to make is resemble a wick.

I measured my fabric out to fit the branch pieces. Then I just hot glued them on making sure that the tops and bottoms were glued too.

I wanted to add a little more to them so I used various ribbons and tulle to tie around the middle.

I used these on a Summer tablescape I did here.

Let me know if you try making any and what you use. It is always fun to see the different versions.

Make sure and visit the other ladies in the series I am sure they will have some amazing projects.
