How to Find Gold at the End of Your Coffee Bottle!

Hello Hometalk Friends! St. Patrick's Day is just a few weeks away. If you're in search of the mythical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, I have just the project for you. Whether you celebrate St. Paddy's Day traditionally with corn beef and cabbage or just want to add a little glam to the occasion, this gold is as close as the end of a paint brush...
St. Patrick's Day typically comes and goes pretty quietly at my house. Generally I don't make anything special, but this year I was inspired by a surplus of milk bottles just waiting to be upcycled. Now, I usually drink healthier homemade almond milk lattes but I will confess these chocolate mint bottled coffees are a guilty pleasure. My local grocery store only carries the flavor during the holidays and the week after Christmas, I found them marked down to $1.12. Since they are usually $5 a carton, I was beyond excited--so much so, that I posted them on Instagram the minute I loaded them into the car! The coffees have been gone a few weeks now, but I purposed to reuse the bottles, especially after seeing the craft store sells them.
With my penchant for bringing the garden indoors, I enjoy repurposing assorted vessels as vases. I thought it would be fun to add gold glittery shamrocks instead of the usual green to the upcycled bottles. I already had this metallic gold craft paint and I picked up some shamrock stickers from the dollar store.
I started by wrapping painter's tape near the bottom third of the bottles. Next, I painted the bottom portions gold. Here they are drying after two coats:
Once they dried, I removed the tape and added a shamrock sticker to the center. I painted just a dab of gold paint in the center and then spread it around the rest of the sticker with a small paint brush. While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled Deco Art Glamour Dust over the paint. The excess shook off easily once the paint dried.
A few roses and rosemary sprigs were the finishing touch--viola!
