St. Patrick's Day isn't a holiday that we bust out the big gun decorations for. Because really, Leprechauns are a little scarier than Santa Claus. Probably why all the kids want to catch them in traps instead of feed them cookies. Still, it's fun to be festive, so a few little touches around the house are a great way to celebrate. Understated and simple, these lucky gold leaf flower pots are a great solution to a seasonal decorating dilemma.
Gold leafing isn't difficult--it's just takes a little time and patience. You can find all the supplies you need at the craft store. There is special gold leafing paint, but in a pinch, white glue will work just fine.
On the blog, there are detailed steps to stenciling with gold leaf. As well as a "cheater's" way to make a stencil.
There are also instructions to cover a larger area with gold leafing.
And how to properly finish the project to get it ready to hold those lucky plants!
Hop over to the blog for the full how to gold leaf a flower pot tutorial!
