How To Make a Homemade Pinata With A Kitchen Staple

I have been making homemade pinatas since our kids were small. I don't want to spend a ton of money on something the kids are going to destroy anyway. I found an easy and effective way to make my own pinatas using a staple everyone has in their kitchen cupboard.
To make the body of any pinata you will need flour, water, a balloon and newspaper strips.
You need to make a glue with the flour and water. Then, you blow up your balloon and set it in a bowl or something else to hold it steady as you work on it.
Dip the newspaper strips in the glue mixture you made and layer them all over the balloon. Make sure you leave the tied part of the balloon without any paper on it. Once you have the balloon covered with a couple layers of newspapers, hang it up to dry.
Once the balloon is fully dry, you will pop the balloon and start making your pinata. This time, I made an easy spider for a Halloween party we are hosting.
I spray painted the pinata black and added some black construction paper legs and googly eyes.
I filled the pinata with treats and toys and just used black tape to cover the hole. To see how I hang my pinatas and more detailed shots and steps, head over to my blog http://mycreativedays.porch.com/homemade-pinata/.
