How To Make A Swag With Dollar Store Items

I think this is a great way to make a swag for your door. Let me know what you think....

Let’s get started!

What you’ll need:

2 dollar store Christmas trees

twine

flags

flowers

straws

white spray paint

ribbon

All of these materials can be purchased at the Dollar Tree.

Start fluffing the tree while leaving the back flat.

If you have white trees, it’s better to use those. In my case, I only had green ones so I sprayed them with white paint. I used twine to tie the two together with one facing up and one facing down.

I then added my embellishments to it. I used some mesh from the Dollar Tree and cut some random pieces off of the roll. I just scrunched it and gathered it up to make it into a rosette. I attached it just by using the branches. I made a few more of these and stuck them on throughout the tree.

I then took some wire ribbon and blue burlap to make a nice big bow which I tied with some twine to the middle of the swag. I then trimmed the tails so it looked a little more finished.

I also added some Dollar Tree flowers with some glue and then finished it off with some mini American flags.

Check out my video about to see more details of how I did this. You can really get creative with it and use whatever patriotic materials you can find!

Here is my swag all done! This was a fun and easy project which cost less then $10 to make.
