Last year I made some wooden firecrackers for July 4th, and this year I wanted to make something a bit different. I was at the Dollar Store and saw some pool noodles and came up with this idea.

Grab some pool noodles, ribbon, and other patriotic decor goodies!

I first cut up the noodles so that I could make them different heights, and combine the colors.

I used tape to keep the different colors together.

I used some patriotic ribbon to decorate them as well using hot glue to keep it together.

You could also use tape, ribbon, or anything else you'd like to decorate them!

Looking good!

Next, I glued the three pool noodles together, making sure the ribbon seams were turned in.

The pool noodles themselves weren't too sturdy, so I then made a base from some wood and a spindle, and pushed the pool noodles over it.

It works perfectly!

It's all finished, and looks great on my porch!
