How To Make Shivery Floaty Bats for Halloween Decor

I wanted to hang bats from our front porch and archway but couldn't figure out how to make them look right. Then I got the idea to put them on curly wires instead and boy, do I like how they came out!
These spooky floaty bats are attached to curly wire and they dance in every breeze.
Here's the secret to floaty flighty spooky bat shapes....black styrofoam meat trays! After washing them I cut simple bat shapes with a razor knife then attached each one to a long length of curled wire. The sturdy kind they sell in hardware stores.
Then we stapled the wires for each bat all over the top of our Halloween archway. They look great the way they dance and float and shiver in the October wind! Plus, they cost us nothing since we had everything on hand.
