Buster Kitty and Pray Tell had a little disagreement. Sadly Pray Tell ended up on the loosing end of the argument. Brokenhearted and thinking him done for, I was on the verge of sending Pray Tell to the trash bin but then inspiration struck.

Well now Pray Tell, maybe I can fill your head with ideas. I

1. Out came my trusty Dremel tool and a grinding wheel. With a little quick cranial surgery the broken edges were smoothed and the the sides of the opening widened to relatively equal proportions.

.

2. Let's make you waterproof.

There was already a small hole in the bottom of Pray Tell's skull, much like the bottom of any planter. Out came the trusty can of Flex Seal and giving a thorough interior seal. (I've had great luck using Flex Seal with other projects, fountains, etc. And Pray Tell was left to cure

3. Later that evening a second flash of recycle inspiration. The lid of a deli take out container reminded me of the fancy ruffled collars worn by aristocrats. In Renaissance portraits.

4. Out came the exact knife and the center of the lid was removed.

5. Then the lid got a coat of gold spray paint.

6. Pray Tell was then glued to the lid so that the hole in his base lined up with the hole on the gold ruff.

7. The ruff looked a tad plain so out came some jewels to decorate it. After all, Pray Tell was an aristocrat.

8. The bowl portion of the deli container was filled with gravel to provide extra weight and to serve as a drip tray.

9 the ruff/lid was then snapped on the bowl.

10. Satisfied that Pray Tell was properly attired he got a coat of poly acrylic for a little extra sheen. And I filled his head with potting soil.

11. To make his costume complete i tucked cuttings from some of my succulents into the opening in Pray Tell's head.

12. Pray Tell is now a fashionable gentleman, sporting a stylish chapeau, all decked out, and ready for invitations to any and all Halloween, Samhain, and Dia de Muertos Grand Masqued Balls.

Note: The Dremel tool worked so well that I'm toying with the idea of getting a second skull and using the cutting blades making a companion for Pray Tell.

This project actually cost me nothing as I had all of the materials on hand in my arts and crafts stash.
