Have extra jars laying around? Need some quick Halloween decor or a fast teacher gift? Turn those extra jars into cute pumpkin faces in no time!
Grab an old jelly jar or any other smaller sized jar. Clean jar and lid, making sure there is no glue residue left on glass. (Use Goo-Gone if you're having trouble.) Place a length of painter's tape down on a solid surface, and use a sharpie to draw triangle eyes, nose, and any shape mouth for your pumpkin. Cut out the shapes. Place tape pieces on clean jar and be sure to press firmly to ensure they're fully stuck.
Place jars on newspaper, cardboard, or a drop cloth and prepare to paint. Use orange spray paint to cover entire exterior of jar. Let dry at least one hour. Apply second coat. (You can also spray paint the lids green or black, depending on preference.)
After two coats, carefully peel off painter's tape. Let jars continue to dry thoroughly before using.
Place a votive candle inside for a glowing jack-o-lantern, or fill with candy corn and add a tag for a sweet gift. This is a perfect fall teacher's gift, or any easy way to add some fall decor to your home with just a few dollars in supplies.
