I love stocking up on cute finds from the dollar store. Even

though I may not have any initial plans for what I pick up, I know I’ll put it

to good use somehow. Plus, it helps feed my thrifty and frugal habit, err I

mean hobby.

And since today is our monthly Thrifty Thursday

collaboration I knew it would be a great idea to share this latest inexpensive

DIY with you.

This month I’m teaming up with some very talented bloggers to bring

together some great inexpensive and unique ideas

to help you love your home
. So be sure to check out the other

Thrifty Thursday projects at the bottom of this post.

And if you’re just joining from one of the other blogger’s sites, then

welcome!

With everything that’s going on in the world and media right now, it’s

pretty easy to lose track of time. I can’t believe we’re so close to Easter and

I haven’t done a single thing to decorate our home for one of my kids’ favorite

holidays.

Although, to be fair. Between working from home, homeschooling and

keeping toddlers alive I often find myself wondering what day of the week it

even is.

So when we actually had sunshine and warm weather today I realized we

were officially in the Spring Season and my home was lacking a little spring

cheer.

Cue my excitement when I remembered my bag of Dollar Tree Easter Decorations I stashed away in a closet a couple of months ago.

I loved these adorable speckled Dollar Tree Easter eggs so much, I think I bought the store out of their stock of these guys.

Sure there are plenty of Pinterest tutorials out there teaching you how

to create your own speckled egg look, but when I barely have time to wash my

hair, then quick and easy DIY are the names of the game.

Plus, I’ve been locked away in our master bathroom the past few weeks trying to transform it on a budget. So decorating has really been the last thing on my mind.

But, since I also had a few pink faux berry stems from my last Dollar

Tree shopping trip, I figured I could create a quick and easy arrangement using

the eggs as a vase filler.

And spare vases are pretty easy to come by in my house. I’m a bit of a

vase hoarder, so I grabbed an empty apothecary jar that I had lying around.

My sweet little helper thought these were the coolest eggs ever. Bonus, they have a small pencil shaped hole in the bottom center making them perfect for crafting an Easter garland or using them as decorative picks for a fun wreath.

Speaking of wreaths, check out how I used these on my gorgeous tulip wreath for Easter!

I unwrapped the four mini egg crates and used the dried grass ribbon as

the first layer of the vase filler. I was about to throw the ribbon out when I

realized it added some natural texture and cushion for the colorful eggs.

I did make sure to straighten up the eggs so the sides with the holes

weren’t seen outside the vase.

Then I arranged my three faux berry stems in between the eggs. I really liked

how they draped over the vase and gave it an imperfect look.

I didn’t keep track of how long this DIY Easter Décor took me to put

together, but there’s no way in exaggerating when I say it couldn’t have been

more than a minute. So for a total of $7 from the Dollar Tree and a quick spare

minute of my time, I created this fun little Easter look for our home.

My mantle needed a little pick me up for the spring season so I put my

new DIY Easter arrangement on display for the kiddos while silently promising

to do better next Easter season and add in some fun décor for them.

Because, well bunnies right?
