Winnie the Pooh themed painted pumpkin
My daughter wanted a Winnie the Pooh pumpkin. So first we decided who would be pictured and a theme for their costumes. That was easy. BEES and everything to do with bees. I couldn't find any images that we liked so I drew them on paper first. Its helpful to have a template to prevent any mess ups. Then drew them again on to the pumpkin freehand with a Sharpie. But you could also just find images you love, print them out and then cut out your figures and make stencils and just trace them and freehand the details. (I make felt ornaments to look exactly like your animal. A great cheat that I learned during that process , but everytime consuming, is to cut out some of the details. Basically making stencils with the main stencil. To color them in I used Oil Sharpies. (One of my new favorite things). Then protect the finished art with a spray polyurethane.
This is the sketch of the figures. Making sure of size and placement.
Piglet as a flower. His ears screamed flower petals to me. Lol
Pooh Bear and his honey pot
Christopher Robin always ready to help a friend in need. Even with BEES. 😊
Suggested materials:
  • Pumpkin, Oil Sharpie's, spray polyurethane, pencil and paper   (I bought my Oil Sharpies on Amazon as a set)
  • Spray polyurethane   (Micheals)

You are very talented. The pumpkin looks great. Bet your daughter loves it. You would make a good children's book illustrator.
