October means it’s time for creepy Halloween! And what could be more fitting than pumpkins? Why not begin your autumn DIY project early and decorate these papier maché shapes in style, bringing some autumnal vibes to your windowsill or living room. Paint stripes, dots and diamonds on the pumpkins in orange, black and white, finishing off with a layer of gloss. The glitter ribbon is the cherry on the cake. Follow the steps below to make your home-made creations glow this autumn.

Paint the pillars black.

Spray the pillars using a gloss varnish.

Paint the various sized pumpkins black, white and orange respectively.

Use a gold paint to paint the stems.

Paint orange polka dots onto the black pumpkin using a round blending tool, then spray with the gloss varnish.

Paint black stripes onto the white pumpkin, then spray with the gloss varnish.

Spray the orange pumpkin with the gloss varnish, leave to dry then glue the glitter ribbon around it.

To finish, decorate the rosettes whichever way you like. Use rosettes in different colors and sizes to create a festive group.

Glue the two square pillars together and place the pumpkins on top.
