I think wide rolls of burlap cloth always works good for any holiday. You can usually purchase them for around $5.00 at Walmart and Michaels. They are also easy to decorate to match the rest of your table decor. Here is another suggestion from a friend of mine: https://lifewithlorelai.com/2016/01/18/easy-diy-table-runner/

Buy a pretty piece of holiday fabric about a yard and a half cut to the width you want plus 3/4 of an inch for the hem and hem it all away around.

Cut up an old sheet. Use Fabric Paints or Sharpies or Embroider or Applique or Stencil or Decoupage.......................

If you are looking for a table runner that is longer and wider than just the typical small mantle size, then one source of fabric is to check in the drapery department. Many times single drapery panels are on sale because they are the last one left without a match.

Curtain panels often are a thicker and heavier weight than just ordinary craft fabric, and so will give a nicer drape to the side parts hanging over the ends of the table. Even if the panel comes with gromets, these can simply be cut off, and the end hemmed.

Don't know your area, but if it is such that you have nice fall leaves, you could gather enough of them to make kind of a fulsome display to iron between two sheets of waxed paper! A thanksgiving table is usually so full that what covers the table is usually unseen anyway/
