We need low cost ideas for a July 4th party in a nursing home?

We are only 10 women on Social Security, so ideas need to be low cost, but not cheap looking. We are finishing up the Easter favors at our next meeting in a couple of weeks. Just did the St. Patrick day ones and before that the Valentine's day ones, so you can see why we need lower cost. Fifty each time. Thanks,

Consider involving peoples pets in a "petting zoo" type of environment as a truly interactive display. This is a wonderful way for pets to spread the love, and totally free. The patients extended families probably have plenty of available petables.
The Dollar Store is your best friend for party decor...their themed party decor gets better and better! Not cheap looking at all! Dollar tree red, blue or white plastic tablecloths with 4th of july decor is pretty . Themed cupcakes, strawberries, blueberries with cool whip (if people can have the fruit). Otherwise strawberry, blueberry jello cut into cubes, then topped with cool whip is nice, with sugar cookies!
