I had some leftover vines from another Hometalk project so wanted to demonstrate how to make an "egg" basket. You all helped a couple "round" basket posts get quite a bit of traffic so I wanted to share a new style with you to see how you like it.

I had some old black speaker cable and some orange coax from a demolished satellite dish that I thought would be perfect to created a Halloween themed basket.

Shaping the Handle

Pick a vine that matches the style of basket that you want to create. With this vine weave a circle as par of it will remain as part of the handle and the bottom will be 1 of the spines that you will leave around.

Connect the Handle to the Rim

You can use a "Gods-eye" or simple weave using and "under/ over" pattern to attach the rim to the handle.

Add more spines to weave around

Make sure the Basket is balanced before weaving
Step 5- Weave around the frame
Add More Spines
Weave around the frame until all of the gaps are filled
