One of our favorite places to go out to breakfast is a restaurant about 12 miles from home. It’s name is Bulls Pen, and the owners raise prize-winning bulls In Mesquite and Forney, Texas. And you can tell by the decorating.
Saddles and murals.
But the owner also has a real knack for special touches for any holidays.
The Praying Cowboy
There are several statues here that are popular with many people. This mantle features The Praying Cowboy and another statue, with a iron flat sculpture featuring a ranch scene.
The Praying Cowgirl
In the ladies’ restroom I found The Praying Cowgirl. She is not as iconic as The Praying Cowgirl, but her popularity is catching on.
Another mantle arrangement
This is my favorite arrangement, just an explosion of grass, wildflowers, and harvest fruits.
Mixing decor
These are a couple of pieces out of six on the wall across from the cash register, a Thanksgiving plaque and several photos of real Texans, the owner’s family and friends.
And the first shall be last.
This is the arrangement I want to copy. That’s a chunk of a tree trunk with a small spray and a Welcome Friends sign made of four strips of wood, each stained a different color.

Thanks for the inspiration Jewel although I'm not in cowgirl territory I love the one you are going to try to replicate, it could be adapted for our sons cottage... a rustic look with pine cones and an antler maybe. You've got me thinking....

My house is far from cowboy, and I’ll never see Asia, but I have a Japanese/Chinese bath shelf. I’m enjoying taking pictures of other people’s style. And while it’s not a DIY that I have done, I get ideas and other inspiration and hope you are, too.
