When it comes to decorating I try to be different and use one of a kind things. I also love the look of flea market style decor and so I tried creating a unique and an engaging vignette for a Thanksgiving Mantel. I had so much fun doing one that I tried to create two different looks with my flea market finds.
Shabby chic styled mantel
Country farmhouse styled mantel
The wreath was a repurpose with a grapel vine, a faux leaf vine, a stencilled sign that I designed and a metal Christmas star that honours my husband's Texan heritage.
This is the first vignette which has a kind of farmhouse feel.
I love this vintage fruit basket book end!
This is the second vignette which has a more shabby chic feel... I tried to keep the colours lighter but still used some of the same pieces that seemed to work for both styles.
And you will never guess what I used for the wall behind the mantel. Do you see the subtle swirls?
Embellishing bottles adds character and texture to otherwise ordinary pieces. You can see what I used to temporarily adhere the lace and pin to the bottle on the left as opposed to the bottle on the right. Come and find out on my blog Patina Paradise.
