The Valentine's Day Tree

Last year I saw someone had posted a fall tree, using their Christmas tree. I thought it was an awesome idea and the great grandkids and friends had such a good time, and it turned out so pretty, they asked if we could do it for every holiday and season. They moved away in November, so December I made my Christmas tree in to a memorial tree with the recent passing of both my husband and mother. It was his favorite of my trees, silver garland, red bows and silk poinsettias. In January I took off the special ornaments and added snowflakes, then the kids moved back. I found some heart shaped garland at Dollar Tree (they had lights too but they take batteries and really don't show up). The girls colored some velvet hearts and the results were amazing. (ages 8 to 12)
The girls decided we should leave the red bows from Christmas. We took off the silver garland and they added the red.
we had some velvet color your own hearts. The girls choose which ones they wanted to do for the tree. We made magnets for them to take home with the others.
They placed their finished hearts on the tree then posed for a picture.
These are some of my great grandchildren. I forgot to put that the tree topper is a felt heart shaped wreath from Dollar Tree
