Upcycled St Patrick's Day Mantel Display Part 1

I don't know what has gotten into me this year but I am having fun making decorations for all the seasons. My lastest projects are upcycled St Patrick's Day Decorations. Years ago we added quit a lot of color to our walls which I fear may now be quite dated but that is a project for another day. Any way the wall that our fireplace mantel is on is painted green so for my decorations I wanted to avoid more green. I decided to use the more neutral colors of book paper with gold accents.

For the beer and whiskey sign I used an old canvas that I covered with some book paper and mod podge.

I used some painters tape to make the letters.

And the stuck the letters to my book paper covered canvas.

Then came the scary part. I sprayed the whole thing with gold spray paint.

The painters tape letters worked really well. I got nice crisp lines and the tape was very easy to remove.

To make the Shenanigans sign I used some clear contact paper to cut out the design.

Then I spray painted the contact paper with the gold spray paint and stuck it to my other art frame.

You can find all the details to make these items in the attached video tutorial.
